Atlantic Week in Review

Unavail The Boston Junior Bulldogs Jr. A team split the weekend against the Philadelphia Junior Flyers at the Cyclones Showcase in Hudson, NH last weekend. In game 1, the Jr. Flyers beat the Bulldogs 3-2. Andrew Bucci picked up both goals in this game, bringing his season total to 8. Bucci scored 7 goals all of last year, clearly showing that he has put in the off season to open many doors for him next year when he heads off to college. Chris Mastropietro added 1 assist, as did Logan Brown, Nick LaCasse, and rookie Cam Smith. Smith played in his first game this season with the A team after being called up from the Bulldogs MET team. “Cam has worked very hard this season and has improved every day with the MET team. We as a coaching staff felt it was time to call him up to the A team to give him a shot. He didn’t miss a beat.” Said Coach Addesa. In game 2, the Bulldogs came out with a lot of intensity and played with much more of a sense of urgency. Boston won 6-4 behind a fantastic 3-goal performance from Francois Lapierre and 4 assists from Chris Mastropietro who played Defense. “Frank” scored 2 poweplay goals and 1 even strength goal. Captain Chris Mastropietro was asked to play Defense for the game, and the leader understood the position and embraced it. His 4 assists capped off his 5-point weekend, earning him Player of the Week. “I’m so proud of Chris. He is a tremendous human being and would do anything to help his team win. What a tremendous person and player he is. To be able to slide back on Defense and contribute the way he did is just fantastic.” Said Coach Addesa. Alex Rusinak, Garrett Sunda, and Dalton Bew scored the other goals. “It was great to see Rusi, Sundy, and Bew put the puck in the net. They have been working hard every day at practice and it paid off for them and for us” said Addesa. Dalton Bew also added 2 assists, as did Defenseman Cam Maceau and Assistant Captain Brad Conover. The Bulldogs have a huge game this Sunday against the undefeated Walpole Express at the Iorio Arena at 1pm.
