Ermics The Bulldogs sweep weekend series: The Bulldogs came away with a much needed 4 points after 2 solid victories over the Cyclones and the Wolfpack. On Saturday the Bulldogs came away with a very solid performance with a 4-1 win over the Cyclones. Sam Callahan was superb in net stopping 46 of 47 shots. The penalty killing was perfect, stopping all 8 power plays. In period one the unit of Lewis, Buco and Kuhn played great two-way hockey. The 1st goal was a very nice feed from Lewis to Buco who hit the back of the net. Goal 2 was a rebound put in by Krauss after Madore took the shot. Krauss, Jenkins and Kolb had a solid period working hard along the boards. Braun and Meyer had big classic hits during the opening frame. Period 2: An even period with no scoring but solid penalty killing as Glover, Meyer, Lewis and Buco took care of the first minute of all kills with the second unit of Williams, Braun, Jenkins and Krauss holding serve for the reminder of play. Braun, Williams and Lewis killed off a 5 on 3 midway through the period. Period 3: After the Cyclones scored early into the third to make it a 2 to 1 game, the Bulldogs tallied 2 more goals to finish off their opponent. Kuhn scored the 1first goal of the period on a pass from Lewis who received a nice feed form Buco. That same line did in the Cyclones again; this time it was Lewis on a pass from Buco and Kuhn. Game two of the weekend was a more physical event as the Wolfpack invaded the Salem Arena. The opening goal for the Bulldogs was set-up on a nice pass from the defensive end by Braun to a wide open Lewis. Lewis then feathered a pass to Buco who went back hand to score the goal. Even though the power play did not score in period one the Bulldogs moved the puck nicely and with precision. End of period one - 1-0 Bulldogs. Period 2 saw the Bulldogs take command as they scored 2 goals to the Wolfpack's 1. Lewis on a pass from Buco was the first goal as the power play unit scored. Elijah Cohen scored goal number 2 on a pass form Phil Crea. End of period two- 3-1 Bulldogs. Period 3: saw lots of actions as 5 goals were scored. The Wolfpack scored 2 goals; one on the power play to close the gap to 4-3 midway into the final period. But the Bulldogs fought back with 3 goals. The first was an unassisted goal by Bucci after a shot by Meyers got away from the goalie. Bucci was right there to put it behind the goalie. Goal number 2 was very similar as a shot by Cohen got away from the netminder and Meyer was there to bang it home. The final goal was set up on another long outlet pass from Braun to a streaking Buco who deeked the goalie and dented the twine for the 6th and final goal. But the fun was not over yet as the Bulldogs took two penalties with 1:29 to go and the trio of Cohen, Meyer and Braun held the Wolfpack to only one shot on a 5 on 3 to end the game. Raimonds Ermics was outstanding in net as he stopped 32 of 35 shots for the weekend. The Bulldogs only allowed 1 power play goal on 16 chances and the goaltending stopped 78 of 84 shots job well done. The next set of games will be Thanksgiving weekend at the Cyclones arena, Hudson, NH. Game 1 11/27 3:20 pm vs. NY Bobcats Game 2 11/28 1:40 pm vs. Philadelphia Little flyers Game 3 11/29 9:00 am vs. Washington Jr Nationals HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE FROM THE BULLDOGS.
