Calahan First period: The Bulldogs started off slow and in the penalty box, down two players. The Bulldogs killed off a 5 on 3 and had a solid last 10 minutes of the period. The 5 on 3 penalty kill was done by Chris Glover, Steven Braun, Eric Williams, Phil Crea and Elijah Cohen. The lone goal came on a very nice pass from Sean Jenkins to Matt Tucceri. At the end of period one, the score was 1 to 1. Second period: The Bulldogs started strong getting 2 goals. The first goal was put in by Cameron Madore on a pass from Michael Kuhn. The second goal was a nice play by Nicholas Kolb as he darted up the ice to get and errand pass from the Pirates and went in on a breakaway and dented the twine behind the net minder. The score after two periods was 3 to 1 Bulldogs. Third period: Similar to period one with some neutral zone play, the Pirates again had a two-man advantage and once again the strong Bulldog penalty killing prevailed in the end. Holding the Pirates to 3 shots, the defenders Rich Meyer, Steven Braun, and Elijah Cohen held off the Pirates for the first minute, while Phil Crea, Chris Lewis, and Chris Glover capped off the second half of the kill. The Bulldogs netted 3 goals all coming from the line of Kolb, Jenkins and Krauss. Nicolas Kolb had 2 goals and an assist as well as a hat trick for the game. Sean Jenkins added the other goal and an assist while Jesse Krauss contributed 2 assists. Final score 6 to 1 for the Bulldogs. Goaltending: Sam Callahan stopped 38 of 39 shots and played a great game especially when the Bulldogs were down on two separate 5 on 3's. Next game: 11/8/09 vs. Walpole Express @ Walpole.
