Bulldogs Take Weekend Series and Tighten Up The Standings:
One Game until Winter Break

Lewis The Bulldogs swept both games this past weekend beating their archrivals, The Northern Cyclones, by a 5-2 score and then coming back on Sunday with a solid victory over the Portland Pirates by an 8-0 count. The weekend saw a multitude of events not the least being a 15 for 15 penalty kill. The Bulldogs also had 2 power play goals and a short-handed goal. Victory occurred over the Cyclones by a 5 -2 score. In period one the Cyclones had their way with the Bulldogs out-shooting them 18 to 8 but only getting 1 goal for a 1-1 score at the period’s end. Michael Kuhn scored on a backhand shot on a pass from Shane Doerfler and Chris Lewis. The Bulldogs killed off two penalties on the penalty kill with Nick Kolb, Elijah Cohen, Steve Buco, Chris Lewis, Matt Tucceri and Sean Jenkins from the forward spot. The Defense was led by Mike DiNardo, Rich Meyer, Chris Glover and Steven Braun. Period 2: More of the same...with the Cyclones out shooting the Bulldogs 10-9 and adding another goal for a 2 to 1 lead after two. The Bulldogs killed off 3 more penalties. Penalty killers were forwards, Jesse Krauss, Shane Doerfler and defensemen Eric Williams and Matt Lawrence. Period 3 had the Bulldogs scoring 4 times to take command of the game. Cameron Madore started the rally on a pass from Jesse Krauss and Nick Kolb. Goal 2 saw Chris Lewis take a pass from Eric Williams and Mike Kuhn. Goal #3 had Steve Buco score to the glove side with assists from Rich Meyer and Mike Kuhn. For the final goal Chris Lewis beat the goalie wrister from the slot on a pass from Mike Kuhn and Steve Buco. Playing an unbelievable game in net was Sam Calahan stopping 39 of 41 shots as the Bulldogs were out shot 41 to 25 but won the game 5-2.
